Hello YFFP:  Get ready for a wonderful week of events!

Peter Dobkin Hall on Faith-Based Organizations: Monday from 12:30-1:30 in S117.  FREE LUNCH.

Join us TOMORROW for another catered lunch and engaging discussion with Professor Peter Dobkin Hall.  S117 from 12:30-1:30pm.

Do you think Bush is simply scoring political points with the Faith-Based Initiatives Office?

Do you think churches ought to be able to deliver social services on behalf of the government?

Maybe as a future pastor you will hope to serve low-income families but worry that you will compromise your organization?

Prof. Hall is Hauser Lecturer on Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Before coming to the Kennedy School, Hall served as director of Yale's Program on Nonprofit Organizations (PONPO) and held teaching appointments in Yale's Department of History, School of Management, Divinity School, and Ethics, Politics, and Economics Program.

Professor Robert George on “Democratic Pluralism, Public Reason, and Religious Faith”: Wednesday at 1:45pm in Jonathan Edwards.  COFFEE AND COOKIES.

Join Professor Robert George for an afternoon seminar and discussion on “Democratic Pluralism, Public Reason, and Religious Faith,” held in the Jonathan Edwards Dining Room at Yale Divinity School from 1:45pm—3:45pm on Wednesday, February 20th.  This event is sponsored by the Yale Forum on Faith and Politics and the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.

Professor George is McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University.  He is a member of the President’s Council on Bioethics.  He previously served as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights, and as a Judicial Fellow at the Supreme Court of the United States, where he received the Justice Tom C. Clark Award.

Best,

Evan
