Good move Dave, I am interested in having Larry's thoughts on this
matter. And his opinion as to the possibilities for the iris
installation.

Regarding the feature of the M14P that allows air to escape the bottom
cylinders, I am familar with that system and this was not the
condition I experienced. I do however appreciate this information
being aired. My engine has some 500 Hrs. on it and has never used Auto
fuel. However I did often use Auto fuel in my standard 52, and never
had the valve problem in some 1800 Hrs. on two engines. As for use,
mine is a 2003 model. this averages to some 125 Hrs. per year. A week
would be considered a long time for mine to be idle.
Glad to hear that Larry approves of MMO as a possibile solution.
You can bet I will be all over that. I was surprised at the high ratio
used. This is also good Info. My intent is to run some in the fuel as
well as the crankcase. Larry, how does the thinning due to this ratio
effect oil used per Hr?

My experiance has been with high power operations so it may not all directly apply. The ratio of MMO is about right at 1 to 8. I use rthat stuff in every engine I have. It seens to disapate quickly and replace it with regular oil. Should have no effect on consumption.
I also use it in the fuel (use the amount recommended on the bottle) at times and know of no reason not to.
I operated an M14 on exclusively auto fuel for 300 hours and it ate it up. Granted it was running 102 persent 100 persent of the time but the exhast valves just can't do that.
Hope this helps,
