THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM (2008)

this is one movie i am kicking myself now for missing in the theater.
it's that much fun. Jason is a protagonist in the truest sense of the
word, he changes as the movie progresses. i thought the fights would
be all stances and chi blasts, and cg enhanced, but there's a
surprisingly fair amount of real fighting in here. Jackie and Jet work
really well together, it's a shame this will probably be their only
film. they'd make a great buddy pair. there's lots of action and
fighting, but it's not very bloody. plus, it has lots to do with the
legend of the Monkey King, and that might make people look that up.
THE actors are all pretty good overall, and even though the "punks"
look like they come from a mid-80s movie (no one ever really dressed
that way, except in Hollywood) they fight well.
