Mission: Magic

i loved the show as a kid- what little i saw of it, anyway (it got pre-
empted for college football a lot) so i only saw it here and there.
seeing it now, with Filmation's rather limited animation is OK- it's
grown on me a bit. the best characters are Rick Springfield, playing
himself, and of course Miss Tickle. it's too bad the producers never
thought of having the characters grow back in the 70s.

anyway, the worst part (aside from the really lame jokes) is the
horrid laughtrack that is so lovingly provided to try to make you
think the jokes aren't all truly lame.

that never works, does it?

still, the music is really quite good, nice pop songs written and
performed by Rick Springfield. the animation is somewhat stylized like
THE YELLOW SUBMARINE, which is pretty cool to watch.
