Celebrate WyGISC’s Legacy This UW Giving Day

It was a joy to gather last spring to celebrate 30 years of WyGISC and the GIST program at the University of Wyoming. Thank you for being part of this milestone and the community that made it possible.

UW Giving Day next week, Wednesday Oct 21st, offers another meaningful way to honor that legacy: supporting the Geringer Distinguished Lecture in GIS & Public Policy. Your gift brings students and community members together to explore how geospatial technology informs decisions affecting public health, agriculture, transportation, and natural resources. Named in honor of former Governor Jim Geringer, the lecture advances conversations that help shape Wyoming’s future.

School of Computing Campaign

Support School of Computing students this UW Giving Day, October 21. Your gift expands access to research, workshops, scientific meetings, and field experiences that build technical skills, confidence, and career connections. Help students turn classroom learning into practical experience and prepare to solve challenges across industries throughout Wyoming and beyond.

Mark your calendar for noon on Wednesday, October 21!
Gifts to the School of Computing Giving Day campaigns at that time have the opportunity to be tripled through the SoC Dean’s match and UW Leadership match.

Giving at noon could make your contribution go even further.

UW Giving Day begins today at 12pm (details below). Thanks so much to WYGEO President Nick Case for elevating WyGISC's Giving Day opportunity with the WYGEO community. We are excited to continue to build support for the annual Geringer Distinguished Lecture in GIS and Public Policy. Next spring will be our 4th edition, and we are thrilled with how the impact of this event has grown over the last several years, something that wouldn't be possible without your generous support.   - For example, this week we are hosting three US Census Bureau experts fat UW's annual Computing Symposium, an outcome that was a direct result of Census Bureau Associate Director for Economic Programs Deirdre Bishop's Geringer Lecture visit last April, meeting with faculty, students, UW Libraries, and many more.
Thanks again for your support - every contribution makes a difference!
Jeff Hamerlinck, Director, WyGISC
