Hi everyone,
Just a quick reminder about the GERINGER Distinguished Lecture happening tomorrow:
Wednesday, April 8, 2026
4:00–5:00 PM Lecture
5:00–5:30 PM Reception
Wyoming Union – West Yellowstone Ballroom (University of Wyoming, Laramie)
This year’s lecture, “Advancing the Use of Geospatial Data to Enhance Our Daily Lives,” will be delivered by Deirdre Bishop, Associate Director for Economic Programs at the U.S. Census Bureau.
Deirdre oversees the national geospatial database supporting the decennial census and federal surveys, and has led major efforts like the reengineering of address canvassing using satellite imagery. She’s also active internationally in advancing the integration
of statistical and geographic data.
If you’re interested in geospatial data, public policy, or how GIS is shaping large-scale decision-making, this should be a great talk.

Hope to see some of you there!
Best,
Nick
