Hi ladies,
Because Shabbt afternoon is almost non-existant this time of year and
because attendance has been on the sparse side, I thought I would look
into some alternate formats for a month or two. There are two options
and I am curious what people think.
The first option is to move Women's Tefillah davening to after kiddush
so that people do not have to come back once they leave schul. We
cannot start actually davening until 12:25 (mincha gedolah). We
usually finish kiddush at 12:00, so that leaves an akward waiting
period. We could do the dvar torah first, then the leyning and do
davening last. That would allow us to start at 12:15 and end at about
12:45.
The second option is to change it up and do something a little
different this month. I was thinking a Shalosh seudah sort of event at
my house with food and Channukah learning might be a nice change of
pace. We could do something on the Hallel of Channukah and it's
special connection to women. We could do some singing and eating and
learning without having to meet in the middle of the afternoon and
without being hurried out by the men. It would be a child friendly
environment.
Which would you rather do? Comments or thought are always helpful.
Many thanks,
Chava
