update Day2 - Stevenot Winery

Hello,

As most of you may already know, the Day 2 will take place at the
Stevenot Winery http://www.stevenotwinery.com/ since they have a T1
connection. The place is pretty close to the Ferriere vineyard.

I am struggling to get a detailed quote of the day; they seem to have
servers issue along with email access problems (I will try to make sure
that this is solved by the end of the month). But it sounds like it may
cost $90 per person. We did not expect to get charged so much... I
understand they have to move barrels around to free the room in
addition to the tables/chairs rental, food and staff.
If we plan the event for 100 people, we are reaching $9000 total... I
will definitely try to talk again with the general manager and see how
much I could cut on food and other items. Since I am still waiting for
the budget details I am not sure where to cut exactly.

But the purpose of this email is to consider more sources of
sponsorship since we (France Telecom) did not plan on spending so much
in the event. We could go up to about $3000 meaning that we have to
find $6000. As I mentioned I will do my best to reduce this figure but
I just wanted let you guys know about that in advance.

Let me now if you have suggestions!
I should have more info Monday and I will keep you posted.

Additionally, I don't know that we can should spend $9000 on just one day..!

Sorry if you’ve already been through this option…I’m trying to think of anything that’ll keep you from having to drop 9K. You can get a lot of stuff done with 9K. J

Seems like you could buy a pile of wireless internet access plans/ cards for less $. Don't know how wireless broadband coverage would be up there though…that obviously needs serious investigation.

Verizon $79/ month, $48-$149 for card, 2 year agreement with $175 early termination fee. ($1946 per card/ plan _if_ it's kept for 2 years...or $303 per card if you just get it for a month and terminate.)

Yes, I did think of wireless broadband before, but it seemed pretty
challenging.

Regarding the quote, it is now down to 7K, and I am pretty confident I
can take it to 5K (I hope you guys don't mind eating sandwiches), with
France Telecom sponsor of a minimum of 3.5K (and I am working on
getting more ;-) ) that would mean we only need to find 1.5k.

However, I will need some contributions regarding the set up of
wireless routers in the room, since I am expecting another source of
expenses there.

Sandwiches? Heck. I'd eat pizza and chips if you want. I think Wifi is the most important here. ;) I'm sure we can gather a whole team of people + routers to get everything working.

Can we get a breakdown of expenses from stevenot? I feel like we can
make up the difference in terms of labor - this is a camp after all -
and we can also bring our own tech. What exactly is $7k (or even $5k)?
