to Windows Vs UNIX (Linux)
On a personal note, I'm for and against both Windows & Unix style
systems in defering ways.
For Windows interface wise it's right up there for simplicity, as it
is known Microsoft's very detailed research into customer needs and
usability in the past has been extremely beneficial.
For Unix style flexibility and control, allows any advanced user
extremely valuable control in many circumstances on a systems
performance and setting up exact user environments as per is required.

What seperates the two style systems for myself is the blunt history
of the two.
Even though Microsoft sells highly professional software, I _hate_ the
fact that in many circumstances, they bought and monopolised their way
straight to the top. They have run over 15 companies that I can think
of into the ground just to be able to be where they are, and there are
seriouly very few signs that this is changing.

It's to this fact, for the last 15 years that I have pledge my
allegiance to the Open Source, BSD, GPL Licence style platforms and
will continue to do so.
Apple have realised this fact, among many others that Unix systems
have unlimited potentual and are a clear and present danger for
Microsoft that they can't just squish.

Overpriced software form a software giant, Microsoft? No from me.
I'll stick with the Open Source alternatives.
