Hi All,

The DSC is up and running!  I have put a sign up sheet next to the DSC, again respect usage time (please don't sign up for more than 2 days in a row, especially in the first few weeks).  The log sheet is next to the computer be sure to write your temperature profile along with samples.

A few points of interest:

1) Do NOT let the resin touch the outside of the pan- if you would like to see how to make up samples see John on how to avoid touching the pans.  He uses liquid nitrogen.

2) If you see an error message on the DSC, do NOT simply ignore it.  Let me know so I can take care of it.  We have set up the DSC to stop the chiller and the run if there is an error.  The chiller needs to be turned back on to avoid damage to the instrument.

3) If you do not hear the RCS unit running (the fans will be on), do NOT run a sample.  The RCS unit controls the temperature of the cell and keeps the flange from overheating.  The only times it will turn off are for a power surge or for an instrument error.

Thanks,
Jeremy
