The monsoon festival of Teej celebrates fertility, nature and community life and brotherhood. In Jaipur, Teej acquires a special regal touch with public processions involving the whole city in a riot of colour and zest. The idol of Teej mata, goddess Parvati travels through the city and lord Shiva's majestic presence completes this festival of union.
