Dear Western New Democrats,
1) London Pride Parade If you haven't heard allready, the annual Londo Pride Parade his happening this
Sunday (tommorrow) from 12:00-2pm. The WND will be taking part in the Parade, so we invite everyone to come march with us! We will have our WND banner, fee NDP frisbees to give away to the crowd and a number of orange t-shirts. While we have made considerable progress on LGBTQ2 rights, we have a long way to go, particularly when it comes to the rights of transgendered individuals. When the people clap for us at a Pride march it's because they know the NDP stood with them long before it was ever fashionable. Let's continue to push the limits of the other political parties by dedicating our march to transgendered persons everywhere: we will be your voice. We will be meeting up at the
Central Spa parking lot at 12:00 noon (located at the corner of York and Lyle Streets). For more information on London Pride please visit
www.pridelondon.org .
2) Wall-mart Town Hall meeting. A new Wall-Mart (the fourth now in London!!) is proposed to be built near the Meadowlilly Woods Environmentally Sensitive Area and people are outraged. Please join MP Irene Mathyssen, Controller Gina Barber and Toronto MPP and former Executive Director of Greenpeace Canada Peter Tabuns for a townhall meeting to discuss issues are appropriate development and environmentally significant areas. The town-hall will be held on tuesday July 29th from 7-9pm. at the Summerside Community Church (1447 Commissioners Rd. East). For more info please visit:

Ontario NDP MPP Michael Prue invites you to a town Hall to end Poverty. The Ontario government has promised to develop a poverty reduction strategy by the end of 2008. We need to make sure that it is a serious strategy that will significantly reduce poverty.
All are welcome to participate! We particularly welcome the participation of people with direct experience of poverty. Lunch will be provided, bus tickets will be available and the location is wheelchair accessible. For more information please e-mail Shawn Lewis at mat...@parl.gc.ca .
