I'm back you all. I was gone for so long because I was celebrating
christmas with my family. I'm sure you were all busy doing your war
against christmas that you had to be little bitches and didn't give
anything back to people. Oh well. Tis is the way of the atheist.

Anyway, on to my point, I want to share with you some insight into the
crusades. I hear that a lot about the dangerous nature of religion...or
more targeting christianity. THE WAR OF THE CURSADES WAS NOT ABOUT
RELIGION! IT WAS ABOUT ECONOMICS PEOPLE!

In that war, The Pope called for the kingdoms of Europe to "recapture"
Jerusalem and its surrounding territories. What if there was no
religion? That war would have happened regardless, as many kings of
Europe already saw the value of the trade routes offered by the region.
If Europe could control this region, the wealth of the east would
spread all over Europe. One might have seen the logic in creating trade
partners with that region, and may think that would have happened when
religion was taken out of the picture. What they underestimate is the
human capacity for greed, why share the wealth with the Middle East if
we can have it all to ourselves? As it is, this is the real reason
behind the crusades, religion only provided a "moral" reason for it.

I wonder how you will flip flop against that.
