Dobson baselessly claimed that "the majority of more than 30 years of
social-science evidence indicates that children do best on every
measure of well-being when raised by their married mother and father."
IN his recent book 'Marriage Under Fire: Why We Must Win This Battle
(Multnomah, June 2004)', in which he asserted that "[m]ore than ten
thousand studies have concluded that kids do best when they are raised
by loving and committed mothers and fathers" (Page 54). Dobson was
writing in reference to gay marriage, which he claims is harmful to
children, and these are exact quotes of his. He is totally full of
shit, as usual.
First of all, Dobson, nor anyone else on the Christian Right, has been
able to show that ANY OF THE alleged 10,000 studies actualyl exists. In
fact, when questioned to name some of these alleged studies, Dobson
could only cite articles and books that were loosely tied to the topic
of SINGLE PARENT HOUSEHOLDS and DIVORCE. Sure -- kids whose parents go
through a divorce are not going to have as enjoyable a time as kids
whose parents actually get along with one another -- but that has
nothing to do with gay marriage!
Dobson is just one more example of the level that Christian
Fundamentalists sink to when promoting their fraudulent opinions as
facts. Dobson, as you should know, was head of the "Family Research
Coucil", which has been lying to America since it's founding. The FRC's
most famous lie was when they claimed that it was possible to die from
smoking Marijuana. Their study was of rats, injected with highly
concentrated amounts of THC, the active ingredient in Marijuana. The
concentrations of THC required to kill a person are so large that in
order to get that amount of THC, you have to be capable of smoking 2
tons of marijuana at one sitting, which is only possible if you happen
to be in a small building with 100 3x4x3 bales of marijuana on fire --
the heat and smoke would choke you to death before the THC could even
accumulate to a lethal dose. But they got away with that lie, and many
others. The whole point of the FRC is to lie to dumb Americans, and
give amunition for ultra-right-wing zealots to back up their factoids.
Dobson's quips about gay marriage fall flatly in the face of ACTUAL
studies, such as the ones done by the Center For Diesease Control, The
American Medical Association, The American Psychiatric Association, and
the New England Journal of Medicine. Unlike Dobson's mythological,
non-existant studies, which he can't even name, The studies by these
organizaitons are open to public scrutiny, and are extremely well
documented. The organizations are well-known and respected in the
medical community worldwide, and you can look them all up online.

percent. I recommend reading articles by Glenn Sacks & Wendy mcElroy on
this subject. To the gay community, I ask you: do you REALLY want to
get married; look at the problems straight folks are having with it!

What Dobson is trying to say, though, is that "families with one mom
and one dad are better than ones with two moms or two dads", which is

What's really amazing is that the Christian Fundamentalist community
has a higher divorce rate than other denominations. To that I say,
"What else would you expect from a religion that trains it's followers

since Gay marriage became law, and they are hiring a team of artists
and scientists to paint all the buildings, roads, grass, trees, and
other objects PINK! The scientists are going to figure out how to
genetically alter the pigmentation of plants to make them pink, and
still allow photosynthesis to work. All of their major cities are on
fire, and cannibalism (the well-known side-effect and counterpart to
allowing gays to exist) is rampant everywhere.
There is evena midget holocaust going on there, as midgets are highly
prized for sexual fetishes, and they are dying in droves as homosexuals

asshole. Personally, I think he's a very smart and honest man, and
people should really listen to what he has to say.

So please tell us what makes the netherlands a "raging cesspool of
dogshit". They even have special "dog toilet" areas where you take your
dogs to poop, and people pick up the poop in baggies and put it in the
trash afterwards, so comments about dogshit simply don't make sense.
I will not take anything you have to say seriously unless you can
provide some valid online sources to backup your claim. I'll bet you've
never traveled there. Their cities are much cleaner and better looking
than American cities, and there are no homeless people to be seen.

I have provided examples of statements Dobson has made that are
patently false. Just because he says things that you agree with does
not mean he is smart or honest. So far, you have not proven to be
smart, honest, or even capable to defending your opinions with
suuporting evidence. You simply make assertions, and back them up with
more of your own assertions. This sort of puts you on the level of
grade-school student who hasn't been given a clue about rational
thinking or logic.

No, but I know many people who have, and their reaction is that Norway,
Sweden, Finland, and Holland are all much cleaner than their US
counterparts. There are virtually no homeless people there, owing to
their welfare system that gives everyone a place to live. The only
actually homeless people are by choice. The crime rates in all of those
countries is so extremely small that the US looks like a cesspool of
crime by comparison.
You seemed to be very quick to rate he netherlands "a cesspool of
dogshit". Haven't you already thought of REASONS for rating itr such? I
don't just whip opinions out of my ass. I usually form my opinions
based on some kind of researched facts that I find.
For example, I wouldn't say that Louisiana was a cesspool of racism
without having some hard facts to back up that claim -- like the fact
that it has a high concentration of KKK and Neonazi groups, the fact
that they elected David Duke, a holocaust denier and former KKK grand
wizard, to be senator, and the fact that the ADL continues to get new
cases of racial abuse from it on a weekly basis.

divorce rate nation wide.
