I was updating one page of my website and deleted some text and
images. After adding the new information, building and previewing, I
sent the changes out. When I went back and looked at the website from
Internet Explorer - lo and behold - one of the images was still there
- smack in the middle of the page.

I went back into my WebEasy document and it is nowhere to be found. I
moved things around to see if it was hidden. I checked the
Inspector. I finally created a new page and moved the information
(bit by bit) to the new page - keeping away from the area where the
image seems to be. That image (picture) is on top of another image -
so when you click on the picture - it links to the document that is
connected to the image below it.

II'm baffled. If you want to see what I am talking about - go to:
www.visitcollinsville.com - Contact/Events Page. Any suggestions?

Ktaylor,

I have experienced the same thing with WE many times over the last few years.  It seems to occur when doing a backup from existing hard drive to another.  I have zero idea why it happens, but I have to do the same thing you do, adding a piece at a time, and publishing until I find the culprit image file.  I then delete that file, and reinsert directly from the original non-Web Easy related location.  It's a glitch that thoroughly frustrates me when it comes to WE, but I deal with it, because overall I enjoy this software, and it is truly a bargain.  My one major complaint, however, is that I am still using WE6, because WE7's publishing wizard doesn't work on my version.  Web Easy's fix?  Well, just use FTP.  Nah, I don't have all day to upload files, so I just went back to WE6.

Don't forget that your computer stores pages, when you upload dont
forget to click 'refresh' to see the new version
Your page views fine to me

One thing that works for me is once I delete the file I hit refresh,
then save. Maybe this will work for you too.

I've also found that if you replace an image with another image of the same
name, the old image won't go away.
You have to alter the second image's name slightly.

Here's an update to my website image problem. I deleted the
underlining image that was linking correctly and now the phanton image
has disappeared as well. Somehow they must have linked together -
even though I could not see it on my work page or in my Build
Preview. Whatever! Thanks for everyone's input.

Does anyone use a third party picture gallery program with WebEasy? I use
WebEasy 6 and I'm trying to find a program to host my pics. I really like
the Gallery program http://gallery.menalto.com/ but can't figure out if I
can incorporate it tnto WebEasy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim

I use JAlbum 7, a very nice free album program. It works fine with
WebEasy 6.

Thanks John,

I have installed the program. Any advice on how to incorporate it with
WebEasy? I'm having trouble tying it to my site.

Thanks,
Jim

You have to create a folder on the server where your website is stored.
I use a simple ftp program to do this.

http://www.cuteftppro.com/products/ftp_clients.aspx

This one costs, there are free programs I'm sure.

My server folder is "public" yours might be different. My website is
stored in the "public" folder. Within "public" I make a folder named
"album". You need a separate folder or all your website files will get
mixed with your jalbum files. When jalbum asks where you want to upload
the files they go into "..../public/album". On my index page, I put a
link to "Photo Gallery". The link to the index page of my album becomes

http://www.zuiko.com/album/index.html

Hope this helps.
