Hello WAFS community,
Please
consider attending a panel discussion we've put together to facilitate
discussion of Picture a Scientist following Dr. Willenbring's dynamic
Q&A session and lecture. Even if you didn't get a chance to watch
the film, this will be a great chance to join the dialogue around
tackling issues of harassment of women in STEM.
"Picture a Scientist" is a documentary that chronicles the challenges that women have faced in science, research, and academia, both historically and presently.
Along with the viewing of the film, we fellows are planning a series of events surrounding these topics, one of them being a panel.
On
February 16th at 7pm via Zoom, we are planning to get together
a group of female faculty in EMS to discuss how they got where they are today, the
challenges they've faced, and answer
a series of questions
from an audience. Our speakers will be Sue Brantley, Zuleima Karpyn,
and Nasim Alem moderated by Claire Cleveland. The panel can be accessed
