Hi WAFS community,

Please see this message copied from Dr. Sanchez below regarding pride month activities!

April is Pride Month, with a series of virtual and in-person events planned across the University.  This Newswire article has the list of happenings:  https://news.psu.edu/story/653192/2021/03/30/campus-life/penn-state-community-celebrates-campus-pride-month-april

For those of you interested in participating in the Safer People Safer Places Network, the final Foundations training will be held on Monday.  Visit the Faculty and Staff Workshops page for more information and registration link https://studentaffairs.psu.edu/campus-community-diversity/lgbtq-community/be-informed/faculty-staff-lgbtq-workshops  Note: workshops are open to Faculty, Staff, Postdocs, and graduate students.  If you've previously tried to register and found that the workshop was full, please try again; the Center has recently adjusted the capacity to allow more participants in the Zoom session.

For those of you who are working toward Rainbow EMS Network participation or otherwise would like to participate in the advanced workshop on Transgender and Gender Inclusion, the final offering for this semester is April 26. The Faculty and Staff Workshops page has the registration link https://studentaffairs.psu.edu/campus-community-diversity/lgbtq-community/be-informed/faculty-staff-lgbtq-workshops .  Again, workshops are open to Faculty, Staff, Postdocs, and graduate students and the capacity limits have recently been adjusted up.

If you've not yet heard about Rainbow EMS Network, it is a new initiative just forming, based on a model piloted by Eberly College of Science, which extends EMS participation in Safer People Places to our labs and research groups. To participate, the lead researcher and at least one other member (faculty, staff, postdoc or graduate student) involved with the research group complete both the Foundations Workshop and the Transgender and Gender Inclusion Workshop, commit to fostering a fully inclusive research group, and notify me of interest in participating so I can include your research group on the website we are developing. (If you have previously participated in the Foundations Workshop and are part of the Safer People Safer Places Network, there is no need to repeat that workshop, just add the Transgender and Gender Inclusion workshop.) Look for more information soon, or let me know if any questions.

Thanks and have a great day!
