My situation is this; My name is Derek, and I'm a 43 year old single
Christian male. My 66 year old mother is currently working as a
medical technologist at a hospital in Houston, TX; however, she plans
to retire in approximately two years to a home in Raton, NM which she
has recently purchased for that purpose. It's an older home that
requires a considerable amount of renovation work to bring it up to
the standard which my mom desires (e.g. painting, carpentry,
landscaping, etc.) To that end, approximately eight months ago, I
moved from Houston into the home in Raton with the intent of doing
some of the required renovation work; however, I unfortunately have
some medical problems with my feet that have now become significantly
worse. As a result I'm having trouble walking at times, and my
renovation efforts have almost come to a complete halt.

After giving it some thought, I decided that this situation presents
an ideal opportunity for me to help out a fellow brother-in-the-Lord,
while at the same time allowing him to help me out as well. So to that
end I have decided that I would like to find an able-bodied male
individual that shares my faith in Christ Jesus, and that is currently
in need of a home to live in. Someone who is maybe homeless, or facing
possible homelessness in the near future. Or maybe someone who just
feels like they need a change in their lives.

For a period of approximately two years I will offer you (completely
free of charge) a private bed; all the food you can eat (mostly
prepared by me - as I cook for a hobby); and access to all the
critical household facilities (kitchen, bathroom, etc.). In exchange,
I will ask that you provide me with 20 hours/week of your labor
helping me to renovate the home. It is not necessary that you have
former experience in home renovation due to the fact that I have a
background in residential construction and can train you if you are
properly motivated and willing to learn. However, due to the fact that
"some" (not all) of the work requires moderate lifting, it is
imperative that you do not have any back problems.

When not working you will be treated as a guest, and as such your time
is your own and you can spend it anyway you choose. There is a
satellite fed HDTV available or you might simply choose to relax in
one of the back yard chairs and enjoy the incredibly mild weather and
the fantastically beautiful valley/mountain views to the west.
Furthermore, if you enjoy fishing, approximately 20 min from here, at
over 8000 ft alt., we have lake Maloya, one of the most pristine
mountain trout lakes in the state; so if you're interested in tagging
along with me, bring your tackle! (see photo link:
http://www.sangres.com/newmexico/colfax/maloya.htm ) And for you dirt
junkies, believe it or not, we even have several moto-cross tracks and
off-roading facilities. (see example links: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=747313
& http://www.nnsra.org/ )

If you live within the continental USA I would be willing to help pay
for the plane/train/bus fair required for relocation to Raton; or, I
will help pay for fuel if a personal vehicle will be driven. If you
do not currently reside in the USA please DO NOT respond to this
offer.

I will provide you with $65 cash/month for miscellaneous. incidentals
(This can possibly be increased if you qualify for food stamps, and
are willing to contribute to the grocery fund). Since I'm only asking
for 20 hrs/wk you may be able to find other part-time work here if you
require more spending money.

Raton is a small mountain town located in northeastern New Mexico. We
are at an elevation of 6,680 ft. and consequently have quite mild
summers. Because of our southern latitude, winters are not too bad
either. When it does occasionally snow, the unusually high day-time
temperatures often melt it off within several days. The home is
located right next to a very rugged mountain range and the view from
the back is absolutely stunning!

I would like to emphasize that although I'm a pretty laid-back, easy-
going guy, I do take my faith in God very seriously; consequently, my
main priority is that you are a true born-again Christian who feels as
strongly as I do about serving and honoring our risen Lord and Savior.
If not, I will ask that you please not respond to this offer.

It is my ernest desire that we can become good friends; however, I
need to make certain things absolutely clear. I DO NOT, under any
circumstances, allow in my home: smoking; the use of profane or racist
language; homosexual behavior; thievery; lying; or the use of illegal
drugs. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is allowed in moderation as
long as it never results in drunkenness (as I believe this is a sin).
If you are a true dedicated Christian, I'm going to assume that these
items will never become an issue. If the opposite occurs, it may be
grounds for immediate termination of our arrangement. There will be no
hard feelings on my part, and I will help pay the cost to relocate
you. Life goes on.

Also, I have several loving pets. So if you are allergic to cats or
dogs, or simply don't like animals, this is probably not the place for
you.

If you feel like this offer might be able to help you out at this
point in your life, or if the Lord is leading you, please e-mail me at
"onefo...@ymail.com". (Note: it is very important that you use this
address or I may not get your mail) We'll talk it over from there and
see if we can work something out.

Thanks,

IC
Derek
