On June 15, 2026, the Honorable Marybeth Dingledy announced her resignation from the bench effective June 30, 2026. Governor Bob Ferguson is now seeking interested and qualified members of the Washington State Bar Association to submit applications to fill Judge Dingledy’s position on the Snohomish County Superior Court. The Governor’s application for judicial appointment—the Uniform Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire—can be downloaded at: https://governor.wa.gov/official-actions/judicial-appointments.
To be considered for appointment to fill this vacancy, applicants should promptly submit the completed Uniform Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire; a brief resume (no more than 3 pages); the information waiver (also found at the link above); and at least two letters of recommendation. Applicants are strongly encouraged to obtain ratings from the judicial district bar association and statewide affinity bar associations. Completed applications must be submitted to the Governor’s Office by Monday, June 29, 2026. Any judicial evaluation ratings should be submitted as soon as possible.
As of the posting of this notice, there is a separate pending notice of judicial vacancy on the same court. Candidates who have applied for appointment to fill that vacancy will be considered for this vacancy as well (unless they contact the Governor’s Office to opt out). New applications from other candidates that are submitted by the deadline above will also be fully considered.
