Good morning,
The City of Bellevue is currently in search of an advisory board member that has a combination of legal experience and extensive DEI competency to be a part of our Probation Advisory Board. The Board’s purpose is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Bellevue Probation Division. It does not set policy, but assists the Probation Division in providing individualized, cost-effective probation services. The Board is comprised of members that come from various backgrounds to include City representation, education, mental health and community members. What we lack currently, is a member that can help apply an equity lens to our discussions and decisions.
I am reaching out to each of the minority Bar associations in hopes that there may be someone interested in participating on the board. Our only ask is that the person has a strong understanding of DEI concepts, is willing to participate in a monthly Thursday morning meeting, and preferably resides or works in the Bellevue/Eastside region.
Any interested persons may contact me directly.
Thank you for your time.
