Subject: Clerkship—Washington Court of Appeals, Division I
To: Erickson, Evan <Evan.E...@courts.wa.gov>

Good afternoon,

The following e-mail is being sent at the direction of Chief Judge Cecily Hazelrigg:

We have had a judicial vacancy for the better part of 2025 that has recently resolved by way of a contested election. As such, we have a new Snohomish County judge starting at Division I before the end of November.

The new judge will have two off-cycle clerkships with a rapidly approaching start date (early December, with the precise date to be negotiated by the judge and successful applicant) and a full case load for the January 2026 term. Accordingly, we are looking for applicants who have already graduated from law school and are available to interview/start within an unusually tight time frame.

The positions have been posted on our court website for a couple of months now, but in the interest of helping our newest appellate judge have the most robust applicant pool possible, I am asking that you share the link/posting within your networks.

Division I Clerkships

Interested applicants should e-mail Evan.E...@courts.wa.gov

Thank you very much,

Evan Erickson

Judicial Administrative Assistant to the Honorable Cecily C. Hazelrigg, Chief Judge

Washington State Court of Appeals, Division One

600 University St., 26th Floor

Seattle, WA 98101-4170
