Dear Neighbours:
I hope you all had a very good summer. After a pleasant, albeit dry summer, it’s back to school and a regular routine for many of us.
I am sure you have noticed the changes in and around 91st Avenue and 216th Street. The long promised reduced speed school zone has been installed. We would like to thank the Township of Langley Council and TransLink for the changes that have been made in time for this school year. To that end there will be a photo shoot by the new school zone speed reduction sign this Friday, September 8th at around 2:45 pm. We hope Topham families, neighbours and friends and all those who helped to make this change happen will be there. Please consider yourselves invited to participate. We would love to see as many people as possible come out to show their support.
We intend to send the photo and a short message of gratitude to the Mayor, Council and TransLink. Too often government decisions around roads seem to be made for the benefit of cars and trucks or on the basis of traffic volume statistics, but we want our leaders to see the faces of the people in the community who will be affected the most by what they ultimately decide.
Thank you again to all of you who worked so hard on this project.
Sincerely,
Christine
