I'd seen larger green compost bins around, and finally figured out how to get one for my house.

The green bins are great for leaves, which of course are compostable.

You have to order new bins from Austin Energy, for whatever reason, and they put in an order to Austin Resource Recovery.

You can call 311 and they will connect you to Austin Energy.

There won't be an increase in monthly fees for the larger compost bin, but there may be a one-time $15 fee.

Consider that the larger bin will save you from buying bags or your own cans, and will make it a little easier to be responsible and legal about bagging leaves, and not blowing them in the street to share with neighboring yards, or to clog water runoff drains.
