But even if this big moment somehow doesn’t make global (or local) (or any) headlines, the fact is, our campaign is now official – signed, sealed and delivered!
You may have seen last week that we reported a really strong fundraising number. I’m so grateful for the support of everyone who’s given so far – but I’m also very aware of the need to raise the rest of our campaign budget.
We can expect turnout this November to be through the roof, and with the mayor’s race on the same ballot as the presidential contest for the first time in Austin’s history (and, uh, there's some stuff happening in that election), we’re going to need significant resources to reach hundreds of thousands of voters in every part of the city and earn their support.
If you’ve already given, thank you. If you haven’t given the maximum of $450 ($900 per couple), I hope you will do that now, please. If you’re maxed out, please do me a favor and ask your friends and family to consider a donation. Finally, if you haven’t given at all yet, this is the time.
We’ve made so much progress at City Hall over the past 18 months. City services are being delivered more efficiently and effectively. We’ve moved the needle on big issues like affordability, homelessness, public safety, and traffic. We have real momentum.
Let’s keep it going for a full, 4-year term. Please support our campaign today.
I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail!
