Howdy,
There’s been a lot of questions as to what to expect for Trick or Treat turn out for this year. I don’t know for certain. From conversations in the neighborhood, folks with kids have said they want to try and feel if their kids are wearing masks it will be safe. We’ve had a lot of houses decorated for the holiday so I feel folks are going to be offering candy. Yes, I believe we will have Trick or Treaters this year. If we all follow the CDC guidelines for handing out candy and the Trick or Treaters are wearing masks we will have “minimum risk”. According to the CDC guidelines; wear a mask, If handing out candy try to set up outside and hand out bags so you and the kids aren’t teaching into a bowl. It’ll be a bit different this year ( as everything has been) but if Walnuts follow the guidance we can have a safe Halloween. Hope that helps. Here is the link for the guidelines.  As far as turn out, it’s on a Saturday with an extra hour for the end of daylight savings and a full moon. Kids have been cooped up and bored, this makes me think we may have a lot of em. However there’s a pandemic and folks are being cautious. I’d have candy and a mask ready in case they come.

I just came here to email you and saw the other Daniel Creen asked the same question.

Are we expecting kids to trick or treat?  Should I get some candy?

Hi Evenyone,
Why don't we make a map of who will be participating in trick or treat in Walnut Crossing?  If we can make maps for yard sales, we can do it for Halloween!
At my house we will be sitting outside, there'll be candy and non-food treats on a table (along with hand sanitizer, of course!) and we will be eager to admire costumes!!

Send me your address, and I'll map away.....

Take into account that a lot of folks will give out candy and receive Trick or Treaters who aren’t marked on a map though.

I will post on Next Door tomorrow to see if we can get more folks on the map!

Someone posted that they were giving out large candy bars that they could toss to the kids. I was thinking of that too, maybe putting out a blanket or something on the front walk to toss it on.
