Hi,
We've just had a young Belgian student staying with us who has been attempting to make the Open Food Network work for us. He is friendly, intelligent and not afraid to help out with other farm work. He has been a pleasure and an asset to have at the farm.He was penciled in to go to Cae Tan next but they don't have space for him so this is a great opportunity for someone else to get his help
As you may know we've used Bucky Box for a few years to manage our boxes and offer extra items as well. But Buckybox has all sorts of problems so we've been constantly looking for another system that has all the features we need and works better. The Open Food Network is something I've looked at before but it hasn't seemed to offer what we need. However it has been developing and now looks like a pretty good system, it doesn't quite do everything we need but with Theo's help we've been able to see how it could work with a few changes to their system that I hope he will help persuade them to make. He's done lots of work copying all our data across, finding ways of doing things and explaining how it works.
I think that a lot of CSA's could benefit from this software when the planned changes to allow repeating boxes are implemented. Debbie I know you've also struggled with BuckyBox at Riverside We feel it will be an improvement and hope to start using it at some point soon.
Let us or Nick Weir know ASAP if you can host him next week or at some point soon.
