Dear people:

Thank for individually working on the required bishop's endorsement. So far only Surigao bishop will not sign unless our Group 352 mate will move to the Surigao group. So Layla is contemplating to get a regular visa. Bacolod bishop called the group leader (what an honor!) to tell her he can't sign since his signature will not be honored. Grace E's group is seeking endorsement from a nearby bishop. These are the other dioceses we are asking endorsement from: Cubao, Paranaque, Manila, Bulacan, Antipolo, and from personally known bishops. Please pray for each one of us! As for Group 352, as a back up, we are determining if Pasig bishop will endorse each one even if they belong to other dioceses.

Manila auxiliary bishop's secretary advised me to get in touch with our parish priest because he will be the one to endorse me to the auxiliary bishop. I guess I will need to make a write up of myself to St. Andrew's parish priest! Another group asked the Greenbelt parish priest to help.

Let's ask John Paul II's intercession for these efforts to bear a positive result.

The first World Youth Day this year will be celebrated this Palm Sunday. See you all in the international World Youth Day in July!!!

Hi Tina A.!

I've asked our parish priest just this morning if I could have his endorsement for the bishop of Cubao (my diocese).  Unfortunately, may requirements pa pala ang mga bibigyan lang ng endorsement.  Dapat daw representative siya ng diocese, must be a youth leader (of his/her parish), and must conduct seminars/talks on what was talked about on WYD upon his/her return.  Sigh!  Seems like malabo ako makakuha ng endorsement from my diocese.  :(  Btw, ang suggestion pala sa akin ng parish priest namin is to have our group leader (at ikaw yun! hehe!) to ask for the endorsement from the parish priest where our group is resided.  So sana nga pumayag ang Pasig bishop. :)

Hello Tina Es!

Some updates: Lennor also was interviewed by Fr. Steve yesterday (Diocese of Cubao) and was told she needed the group leader's endorsement of her (ako yun). What is not sure is if with that, the bishop will sign a letter. Tetchie Curl's also from same diocese, but since she's close to a staff, her request letter is with their diocese's batch of request letters. She is hoping the bishop will sign.

Good luck to all. Medyo mabigat sa bulsa ang non WYD visa fee...

Hmmmm... Just a suggestion, why don't we gather all pilgrims and volunteers on our next get-together and know who belong to which diocese, and see how we can help each other out on the bishop's endorsement.  :)  Baka kasi may suggestions 'yung iba.

Fyi, Chipi told me that Fr. Estrada (of UA&P), who's a friend of the bishop of Pasig, was able to get an endorsement for the UA&P students who will be going to the WYD.

Hello Tina Espi.!

Yes, that would be good. Nilalakad ni Daphne yung sa group natin, she'll get the reply tomorrow from the office of the Pasig diocese whether Bishop San Diego will be willing to give us a "blanket" endorsement. Gli will sign the letter of introduction in case the answer is positive. Let's pray that he will be 'nice'.

Let's all have a holy Holy Week. :-)
