Dear gals!

I was excited to learn from my house that there was a package for me from the Australian Embassy! Yahoo! So I asked that they open it....and they found a letter that said my documents lacked a bishop's endorsement....uhmmm...do you remember they told us to have it? Oh well......

I was about to ask you that.  I got hold of a copy of the February WYD Registration Update for Pilgrims and it mentioned a Bishop's endorsement letter for paper visa (non ETA countries) applicants [see 2nd paragraph, page 2 of attached rego update]. I think requirement talaga 'to.  Hehehe! =)

Yup, i remember that but you said that it isn't necessary.  What do you suggest we do?  Can you tell me how to go about it, i mean, the endorsement letter?

What I said was that I was informed by a representative of the Australian Embassy that it isn't necessary to form part of the Episcopal Commission on Youth to get a WYD visa. The local bishop's endorsement is a new requirement as of February 2008, as Tina E. read from the Pilgrim's Newsletter.

The Embassy replied to a group leader's question whether the endorsement could be by group. They said it needs to be per individual. Maybe as a preliminary step the group leader can personally ask a bishop or his assistant whether he can endorse each one in the group. Result of this will determine next steps. I will be attending noon Mass in a parish, and I will ask the office if it is possible to get individual endorsements for my groupmates.

PS. Just a "success story" - I got new contacts for WYD. This teacher browsed my beneratzi.multiply.com and inquired if they could be part of us. More people for WYD!
