1. Analysis of brain samples for transmitter content using HPLC.
Practical application of all that chemistry that you took but were
not
sure why. Obtaining the tissue samples is an important component and
willingness to handle mice desirable.

2. Measurement of working memory using Y-maze and motor activity and
anxiety using open field motor activity. Animal handling absolutely
required. Obtainig tissue samples is also an important component.

NOTE: Both projects involve studies designed to develop new
treatments
with completely novel mechanisms for chemical warfare attack.
Students
will NOT be exposed to toxins.
