Greetings,
My wife and I are out of town now, visiting her mom in a rather remote area of the Catskill Mountains. Because there is very limited cell phone and internet service here, I will probably not be able to respond to your emails until I get back to Chicago the middle of next week. Hopefully by then I will have heard from all of you.
In the meantime I'd like to suggest that each of you prepare at least 2 movements of one of the unaccompanied Bach sonatas or partitas for your first lesson with me. I'd prefer it to be one you haven't done before, or did a very long time ago. Because unaccompanied Bach is a necessity -- for all of us, at every stage of our careers -- it should provide an ideal context for me to get to know your playing. Of course you should feel free to practice other things as well.
I'm really looking forward to our work together.
Best,
Richard
