Front Porch Radio is
broadcasting live from
Winfield
again and this year is teaming up with
WSUiR to bring even more festival
sounds via the Internet to the sad folks who couldn't make it to hear
them in person...
Front Porch Radio streams hours of
live music from
their
stage at the Walnut Grove
- check out
past years'
events right now! WSUiR will be scouring camp
sites to record the culture that makes Walnut Valley one
of the most loved festivals around. Recordings of interviews and music
of festival-goers will be broadcast the following day along with
Best-Of Yesterday's Front Porch Radio and the
James Gates Show. To
catch the main stages, you've got to get yourself there in person, but
to hear what you're missing from the campgrounds- jump on the Internet
and listen to
Front Porch Radio
and
WSUiR.
* Check out our tentative schedule on the attached flier.
This is a huge effort and all volunteer, so you'd like to help up make
it happen, let us know now! We could definitely use your help:
- let us know which camps you want to hear about - even meet up
with us there and show us around!
- sign up for our text group: if you're on the list, you can text
to irnut...@googlegroups.com to send everyone an alert that some
amazing music is happening and where we should come to record it.
- clue us in to other people already recording or otherwise
documenting the festival
- gather field recordings
- basic audio editing
- uploading/driving content to Wichita for broadcast
- spread the word!

We keep our Winfield
notes on a collaborative web space. Check in to see how our
planning is going (and for proof of how much we could use YOUR help!)
See you there, or hope you're tuning in!
