Hello everyone,

I recall some questions on the status of SB424. If I am reading this page correctly, this was signed July 13 and takes affect Jan 1 2024.

Hi Lisa,

Oregon Live does not know when an academic year begins.  Ours begins with the Summer term.  The bill can be effective January 1st, but we will apply it to the 2024-25 academic year

which starts in Summer 2024, which is the end of June for us.
