I've got the Harken 8:1 system, and was wondering if I could make it a little easier to sheet in by running the line through the bottom block top becket and through the hole in the top block instead of terminating the line on the bottom becket. Has anyone tried this and does anyone have any opinions one way or the other? If running it through the becket creates too much friction I could add a 40mm block on top of the becket.
See the attached photos.
Thanks!
Colin

You have to be careful how much load you put on that front padeye (above the cleat). The plastic pins on the round side plates will sheer off.

I don't know which boat you're on, but 9:1 has pretty much become the minimum standard.
