Worrell Brothers. Simpson captain/Baker crew. Neither one of us had a watch. We will take Atomic Bumble Bee’s time.

A couple days ago I asked Pat if he would like to crew for me. He went into this long discussion about how it would be impossible. It went on for two or three minutes. That doesn’t sound like a long time. But he could have simply said, “No thanks.” Instead, he explained that he would be exhausted from his trip to Canada, the regatta and the traveling. Pat said that he would come to the club to visit with Ed. But he would not have the energy to crew.
As we were rigging the boats, I happened to overhear Paul ask Pat if he would like to crew on his F18. Pat said, “Hell yeah! I’ll grab my sailing gear from my car.” Paul and Pat rigged the boat, suited up and launched in three minutes. So, not only did Pat come to the club prepared to sail, but he rigged and launched in the same amount of time that it took him to explain to me that he would not crew for me. I am not sure what to make of all of this.

Atomic Bumblebee 52:28.
For some unexplainable reason I can’t figure out the starting area. :) I am always late.
Decent downwind run. Slow upwind. Usual.
Vlad.

With Pat as crew!
Pat told me he wanted to compare the ride with Baker's.  I didn't hear the verdict...
Although I don't think he knew what he signed up for.  Pat got me out of a few fender benders.  Almost t-boned Baker on the leeward mark.  He probably was trying to find a polite way of telling me how steering works on sailboats.

Great to see you Ed!

Paul
