Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone, 

Big updates - we already have 25 boats signed up for the regatta!

We have great events set up for the weekend: 

- Friday Night Reunion Party and Dinner at Mike Gruber's home on the lake (9/26)

- Saturday Night at LHYC with Dinner, Music, & a Special Presentation on the History of the A-Cat Fleet presented by Peter Block & Danny Goritski (9/27)

- Sunday Cookout after the Awards Ceremony (9/28)

This is our 20th Anniversary of this regatta and we're making it a big reunion - we even have a few special guests just flying in for the reunion parties. 

Would love for more of you guys to join. Don't let distance deter you - we have extra boats for farther away out of towners who need a boat. Plus, we have nice housing around the lake for you and your spouses.

20th Annual Lake Hopatcong Cal Fuller Regatta - and Reunion

Dates: September 26-28, 2025

Come one, come all to the lake where legendary Cal Fuller designed and built the first modern A-Cat - Catnip Hull #1 - back in the 1960's. 
Home to 4 previous North American Champions holding 8 first place trophies:  Cal Fuller, John Koeck, Merrill (Doc) Stern and Mike Gruber.
Home still to the largest A-Cat fleet in North America.
Two to three member boats available for use for Out-of-Towners.
We're looking to make this our best A-Cat Party ever - a regatta PLUS a Reunion! 
Can't get here with your boat? Come anyway and join the fun and you can second-guess the sailors from one of our spectator boats. 
Or bring pom-poms and we'll put you on board with the Hefele girls who lead the only cheerleading section in all of sailboat racing!
  • Friday setup and practice,
  • Friday night welcoming party at one of the fleet members' lakefront homes. 
  • Saturday registration for those who haven't registered followed by skipper's meeting and on to racing.
  • Saturday night dinner and party at LHYC
  • Sunday more racing followed by BBQ and Trophies

History:
Over the years we've had drifters, screamers and even a hurricane. Last year the breeze complied and we completed 7 races on Saturday (plenty of sore bodies at that night's party). And 3 more on Sunday for a full 10 races in two days!

Did you know? Before LHYC had an A-Cat fleet, no boats were allowed on the club's beloved lawn.
