Old timers with the Fleet know that it was originally Supercat Fleet-15.  Roger was the local Supercat dealer, and the vision was to create a weeknight racing league for Supercats and other beach cats, just like what the keelboats have almost everywhere.  The name Fleet-15 was picked because there was a goal to have 15 boats on the line.  Here are some pics of Bob Coss's Supercat-17 out on a Tuesday night.  The 17 is a cool boat, offering (for those days) decent performance and ease of use in a boardless boat.

Very cool!  Those hulls were enormous!  I was lucky enough to crew for Roger in one regatta an his Supercat 22….unfortunately, during a tack, pre-first race, we (I) somehow manage to rip the jib…..so back to the beach.  Sorry brother!

But what a machine!  He and Nate would wind that thing up in the river and really make it go!
