Went for a nice little sail on the Hobie Wave yesterday. A 10 knt
breeze had me moving comfortably with little chop and crisp spring
air. Headed from Beverly Beach to about G3, then headed on a reach
toward R2, but turned back to land before getting very close. Was
doing a comfortable 8 knots at times. I raked the mast back per
recommendations. It helped. Didn't get to try my new bigger jib
because the wire sleeve popped off the luff wire when I put it under
tension. Better on land than on water, for sure. That would've been a
pain. Tried out my new gloves. They're nothing fancy but man my hands
felt good. My feet were a little cool (I need to try launching without
wading out), but not my hands. Gripped the mainsheet fine. Couldn't
say if they grip fine on a N20 in 15-20 knots, but they were good for
me yesterday. I was not compensated for this review.

I had a similar pair I purchased to sail to the Bahamas with Tim on Triple Threat--in November. They worked well until they got soaked inside, then not so well. I should have bought the ones with a removable liner that I could dry out. Of course, nothing was dry on that boat for almost the whole trip.

Yes, if they get wet inside they are hard to dry out.
