I’m installing a cam cleat on the front beam of my wave for the furler line. I’m using rivets. It’s not a perfectly flat surface. Should I just put silicone around the base of the cleat?

Here’s a picture where it’s going.

I'd probably mount it on the flat section that's angled down (clear angled up).

Also, make sure you use good rivets, not the standard ones that just deform weirdly.... Maybe I'm just a rivet snob now, but Avinox are worth the money to know they'll never come out.

Yeah, I’ll check out the flat part. Not sure what that will do to the cleating angle but I’ll test.

Patrick, please note that there are all sorts of bases available for micro cleats . You probably need a wedge one.
Best.

Sweet, yeah, I tested it out and the angle was okay. If it don’t like it I’ll get an angled base. The cleat prob won’t be a high usage thing, and if things are hairy and I want to be sure I figure I’ll tie the loose end off on a horn cleat. At least that’s the theory.
