My dad, Bobby Heavner passed peacefully Saturday night 10/26/2019 as mom and I held his hands and experienced the glory of our lord as he called dad home. I’ve never experienced anything so intense before, watching my mom and dad say goodbye after 70 years (64 years of marriage)
Mom wants us all to recognize that this is a time of many emotions but that we all come to know that this is a CELEBRATION of life and death in Christ.
The service for celebrating the glory of Bobby Heavner’s life will be held at Guilford College United Methodist church this Wednesday 10/30/2019 at 10:00 AM.
I’d love to share this Service, celebration of eternal life with each of you that may be so inclined to attend the service and/or the Southern Funeral Reception at the church. *you think you know jello-salad…(Duke’s mayonnaise and canned fruit suspended in jello-o, come on, man)
Dad was a righteous dude!

I am so sorry that you and your family are going thru this transition....as I totally know that it is not an easy time. Just know that I will be holding you and your family up in prayer, that the days ahead will go as smooth as they can, and that your dad will transition without a major amount of pain.

...long day but dad finally has his way and is outta Hospice and resting back home. a RN Angel came to our rescue tonite (Wednesday) as we realized that care was more than we had anticipated.
It's scary going through this transition. dad is a wonderful dad. helping him through this process in front of us will be the greatest joy of my life.
Note to y’all:
Dad is a member of Guilford College United Methodist church, a Sunday School teacher, Methodist Lay Speaker, FreeMason, Million Dollar Roundtable member (Jefferson Pilot Insurance company), Rock hound (some of y’all may remember coming over to the house on Boxwood and looking at dad’s rock collection when we were in grade school), and generally a pure-blood peach fuzz Southern Gentleman. I can only remember him cursing once…maybe twice in my whole life.
Dad still gives me shit about my long hair and keeps bugging me about replacing my 20 year old green BMW with a new rig.
Dad is home and comfortable without pain and is exactly where he wants to be when he is called by his lord and savior.
