Hi All,
This is Bill Moon, I have recently taken over as the studio manager for Heather Davis. I am really excited to be back in the role of studio manager here at the WCAC. Over the next few weeks my obligation to the center may be hectic as far as scheduling as I finish out the last firing of my kiln and class I am currently teaching.

Many of you may remember me from my previous manager stint here in 2020-2021. I have an open door policy for you to be able to stop me at any point and ask me questions or let me know of anything that needs to be addressed in the studio. I hope to be available at the studio approximately 20-25 hours per week initially and may bump that up after my firing depending on the studio needs.

Over the next few weeks I plan to be at the center Monday-Thursdays from 10-?. Most of you know the studio assistant Emily Bishop and the current resident Andy Cain.  I have meetings scheduled with both Emily and Andy over the next couple weeks to review studio roles and responsibilities - until then if you see something that needs addressed don't be afraid to put a bug in any of our ears.

Also don't forget that our Fall Session for adult classes starts September 2nd - you can sign up online or at the cafe. I'm excited to have Kimberly Grossman, Marsha VanVlack and Mark Corwine coming back to teach our core classes available to both beginner and advanced students - more information can be found here: Sign Up for Fall Classes
Some goals I have for the center moving forward are:
  1. Great communication between studio manager and students
  2. Exciting clay classes / workshops
  3. WCAC Student Shows
  4. Expanding the Residency Program
  5. Developing a Leadership Team of senior students and teachers (meeting once / month)
Here is a big ask of the students of the WCAC. - I'm currently looking for some teachers for our Art:360 program. The Art:360 program is available free to local students who fall under the BOCES area of operation. - I have several teachers coming back to teach during our Fall Session for Art:360 but am on the lookout for others to teach the following areas or introduce new topics: Creative Coffee, 2D Mixed Media, and possibly Introduction to Wheel (I still need to touch base with Steph Burdick). If you are interested or know anyone who may be please put them in contact with me through email.

Thank you so much and I look forward to interacting with you and keeping our awesome studio thriving!

-Bill Moon
