Hello WCAC Clay Studio People,

I wanted to give you all the heads up about our next visiting artist, Doug Peltzman! Doug is an extremely talented potter who has received great acclaim for his brightly colored and highly decorated one of a kind contemporary dinnerware. Starting with the wheel and employing a number of very precise slip inlay and glazing techniques, Doug has a particular design style but is able to maintain originality in each of his pieces despite the high volume of pieces he produces. He is one of the most creative and skillful production potters in America today, it is an absolute pleasure to be able to bring him to our studio and I encourage you all to sign up and attend the workshop.

Unfortunately, you cannot yet sign up for the workshop, but it should be posted on the website soon. I send another reminder as the date approaches. I don't yet have a poster made for the event so here's the raw information:

Doug Peltzman Workshop at the WCAC

The workshop will include a brief slide presentation by Doug followed by demonstrations of his wheel throwing, trimming and decorating techniques. This will be an amazing opportunity to meet the artist himself, learn some of his great skills and gain some of his awesome insights on making.

The cost of the workshop will be:

Advanced sign up - $45

At the Door - $55

Free to Students with ID
