Help Needed!

Hello everyone,
I have 2 WB m460's that I have racked up but am having some issues with that I'm hoping to get some advice on. I reached out to Thomas Gruning when I started this project and he was nice enough to send me his pinout sheet for these units of which I followed when wiring up the units. Both units are working, but are extremely hot. Just speaking at a normal volume through a sm57 with the gain all the way down is right at the threshold of clipping. Close micing a kick drum with the gain all the way down and the pad on is past clipping. I have an attenuator from CAPI wired in after the output of the 460's and even when attenuating to not clip my converters I am getting audible distortion just speaking when turning the gain up hardly at all. I am new to racking old gear like this so I am fairly lost as to what to do to fix the issue. Any ideas or guidance would be greatly appreciated! I have pictures of the units wired up that I can post if that would help.

Thanks!

How are you emulating a fader in the insert point?

Good day

Make it a 15db pad

That's unity in hand fader value expected.

Thank you for the response!
That makes sense. I had thought not having anything in place of the fader may have been the issue but didn't know what to do for it.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but would that basically be a specific value resistor? or is the pad something else?
