Fly-Out to Luray Caverns and BBQ Info!

Dear W96 Tenants and Friends,
We have decided to have our next fly-out to Luray Caverns Airport on Saturday, October 26th. This is approximately a 100 nm flight each way and should take a little over 1 hour in typical light planes. We picked this date to coincide with the fall colors in the Shenandoah Valley, so the scenery will hopefully be quite impressive.
Upon arriving at Luray Caverns Airport, the airport staff will take you over to the Caverns, only a 5-minute drive away. The ride is free, although they appreciate a small contribution towards gas for the car. A guided tour of the Caverns is $24 per adult and $12 per child, and in addition to the Cavern tour your ticket includes the Car and Carriage Museum along with access to the Luray Valley Museum. They also have a snack bar for a light lunch if you like. Please visit their website at www.luraycaverns.com for more information. Once again, a NKA instructor will provide a complimentary pre-flight briefing in the W96 break room at 9AM sharp and then it is off to the Caverns! Feel free to join us in your own plane or contact us if you need to rent one of ours. If you want to share the flight, let me know and I will match you up with another pilot if possible.
Additionally, remember our next cookout is on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Make sure to bring your friends out to the airport for a free lunch. Finally, the regularly scheduled October BBQ has been postponed until Saturday, November 2, 2013 to avoid conflicting with the fly-out to Luray.
