Subject: ANC Candidacy
To:

Friends and Family,

On January 6th, 2012, I officially announced my candidacy for the office
of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC1A03) in Columbia Heights,
Washington D.C.  The advisory board is responsible for providing
oversight on programs and policies that affect the local neighborhood
such as traffic, economic zoning and development, public safety,
parking, and the District's annual budget.

I have been active in the political process at the local, state, and
federal level. In light of my passion for social change, I believe the
ANC would be a great way for me to build a local foundation by
starting in my own neighborhood. Through my representation of nearly
2,000 constituents, I will devote my time and energy on getting to
know the individuals that make up the community where I live and
concerns they have regarding change in the local area.

A campaign cannot be successful without the help of others. To ensure
that I am able to win the election, held on November 6th, 2012, I am
asking if you would be willing to contribute anywhere up to $25
(maximum) to the Steve Swank, ANC Campaign. These funds will go
directly to promotional literature, local events and community
outreach activities sponsored by the Steven T Swank Jr, ANC Campaign.
Those of you who are interested in making a donation please make your
check payable to “Steven T Swank Jr, ANC Campaign” and mail to the
address below.  If you are willing to volunteer your time to
participate in community improvement efforts, please let me know.

Mailing Address:

Thank you very much for your support and I look forward to serving the
people of Columbia Heights.
