Hi Chief,
I am writing to you because I think you might be able to help me.
I am Suzet and I have a 2001 Drifter 1500cc. I had my first accident last night, and I am still in schock. I am OK thank GOD but my bike is all messed up.
Mirrors, winshield, engine guards lights - all broken.
I was wondering if you could stir me in the right direction to where and what to buy. I might be able to get some help to put it all together.
I live in Myrtle Beach, SC and to be honnest with you the only dealer in town for Kawasaki  dont really know what they are doing.
Can YOU help me??
Thanks,
Suzet
ps. is there a way to talk you on the phone? I do  not know too much about parts and mechanics I just enjoy riding and the forums

Hello Suzet,

I assume you have notified your insurance company. They will want you to take it to a dealer to get an estimate of repair. The estimate will contain a listing of everything that needs repair and how much it will cost (oem replacement parts).  Also, the insurance company will determine if the bike can be repaired or if its totalled.

Assuming it can be repaired - you can decide to let the dealer do it, take someplace else or do it yourself.

For individual parts, look at the accessories section of the website (vulcandrifterriders.com). There you will find links to sources for all the parts you mention.

Good luck and Cheers.

YES, sean chen is very right.

bikebandit.com has excellent exploded diagrams of parts. I have bought filters, lights, and other small parts from them.  The diagrams are very accurate.

Their prices are reasonable and probably cheaper than your local "marked-up" Kawasaki dealer.

Check it out and get "it" as cheap as you can.

happy hunting

I did notify the insurance company and adjuster came and made the list. I think the bike can be repaired, but there might be a possibility that the repairs cost will be higher than the value of the bike and therefore they might claim it as a total lost.
I really dont want to separate from my bike, but I am  also not mechanically inclined, so I will have to ask, beg for favors from friends.
Thanks for the input
Suzet

I want to keep it because I love my bike  as I designed to my very own taste. I think its still running. Just now I started to take apart the broken parts and I will try to order new ones. No nes yet from the insurance so I do not know if they will total it or pay for the repairs.
