2026年3月31日より、ケブランリー美術館のマーティン・オーブレ展示室にて「KWAME AKOTO: Almighty God Art Works」展が開催されました。

こちらは私が弟子入り調査しているガーナの看板工房の師匠の個展で、展示の一部として、徒弟制や工房生活についての短編映像「Akwaaba Yaa Shoko / Un film de Shoko Mori」を上映しています。

本映像は2024年の長期調査時にガーナ現地で制作し、調査地Alliance Française Kumasiでの看板絵展示の時に上映した作品をもとにケブランリー美術館と協働編集したもので、日本語ナレーションにフランス語と英語の字幕がついたものとなっています。

展覧会の会期は2026年9月6日までです。

Je me permets de vous contacter pour vous informer de l'actualité suivante.

Depuis le 31 mars 2026, le Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac accueille l’exposition « KWAME AKOTO : Almighty God Art Works » au sein de la Galerie Martine Aublet.

Cette exposition monographique est dédiée au maître de l’atelier de peinture d’enseignes au Ghana où je mène mes recherches en tant qu'apprentie. Dans le cadre de cette présentation, mon court-métrage intitulé « Akwaaba Yaa Shoko / Un film de Shoko Mori », portant sur le système d'apprentissage et la vie quotidienne à l'atelier, est projeté.

Cette œuvre audiovisuelle, initialement réalisée au Ghana lors de mon terrain de recherche de longue durée en 2024 et présentée à l'Alliance Française de Kumasi, a été co-éditée en collaboration avec le Musée du Quai Branly pour cette occasion. Le film est en japonais, sous-titré en français et en anglais.

L’exposition se tiendra jusqu’au 6 septembre 2026. Si vos pas vous mènent à Paris, je serais honorée de votre visite à la Galerie Martine Aublet du Musée du Quai Branly.

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to share information regarding a current exhibition at the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac.

The exhibition "KWAME AKOTO: Almighty God Art Works" opened on March 31, 2026, in the Martine Aublet Gallery.

This is a solo exhibition featuring the master of the Ghanaian sign-painting workshop where I have been conducting my apprenticeship-based fieldwork. As part of the exhibition, my short film "Akwaaba Yaa Shoko / Un film de Shoko Mori," which explores the apprenticeship system and daily life in the workshop, is being screened.

The film was originally produced in Ghana during my long-term fieldwork in 2024 and was first shown at the Alliance Française Kumasi. For this exhibition, it has been co-edited in collaboration with the Musée du Quai Branly. The film features Japanese narration with subtitles in both French and English.

The exhibition will run until September 6, 2026. If you happen to be in Paris, I would be delighted if you could visit the Martine Aublet Gallery at the Musée du Quai Branly.
