Antietam National Battlefield, 15M
There are many beautiful trails and meadows, including along Antietam Creek, along with historical markers and monuments commemorating this pivotal Civil War battle. Bring your National Parks Pass if you have one to go into the Visitors Center (not required); the Park is also on the National Parks app. Restrooms at Visitors Center will be open at lunchtime. Rolling hills, mostly dirt and grassy trails, no stream crossings, elevation approx 1000 feet. This will be a double loop, coming back to the Visitors Center for lunch if you want to only do the 9M hike. Map is attached.

Start outside the Visitors Center, 830 am. https://www.nps.gov/anti/planyourvisit/directions.htm

Carpool from Carderock lot. Start from the first parking lot at Carderock Recreation Area (38.9723,-77.1996).  Exit the beltway for Clara Barton Parkway West (towards Potomac), in less than a mile exit and follow signs into Carderock Rec Area (for the first parking area turn right and then an immediate left)

Please let me know if you will meet at carpool (Carderock) or at the trailhead.
