Hi,

I'm trying to gain some traction on whether it is possible to consume
services and/or data from Vignette. We are looking to display a small
amount of content with C# from a Vignette system and was wondering if
this was at possible. Any pointers in the right direction is
appreciated.

Thanks in advance and apologize if this is not the correct venue to
post this question.

I presume your question is about VCM (Vignette Content Management) product.

Are you planning to consume only the content or its meta-data (channel,
classification etc) as well? Is your content tightly linked with each
other? Are you managing static files from VCM? Based on these and
probably some more questions, you may have few options.

Naresh

Hi Naresh,

From what I know of the VCM we would be consuming some meta-data
channels and content. I don't believe the content is tightly linked
and is abstracted from the presentation.

Thanks,

If you are going to use meta-data, I would suggest you use java to call vignette API's and expose your java classes as web service. These web services can be called from you C# app.

I know it is extra work, but it is easier than trying to figure out schema and make direct DB calls.
