I just received subject gear and in the process of initial setup.  I
have accomplished bluetooth setup between my Android phone, VGC Wireless
Spkr Mic., and the RT99.

I have also registered and can log in to the HT Android app.  I also
have an iPhone that I could use.  How is the equivalent iPhone HT app.
compared to Android?

One thing I noticed is that the RT99 does a random transmit toggle, not
initiated by a PTT by me.  I thought VOX was on but that does not appear
to be the issue.

Is the auto xmit something I can turn off.  I am a novice at APRS/GPS
and thought the auto xmit was a function of those features kind of like
PACTOR keying.

Initially, I added a local 2 m. repeater.

I can communicate with the repeater.  However, the auto xmit is a
nuisance.  Also, a listener indicated that there was a loud squeal after
transmission completion, right before the repeater drops out.

He said I was scratchy into the repeater which surprised me with med.
power and the antenna used.   Seems like my HT's with this antenna
(Comet GP3) worked fine.

If RT99 is BT linked to both my cell phone and wireless microphone at
the same time is that a problem?   That may not be possible, if there is
some type of either/or BT link priority built in.

Any recommended video tutorials?

Lots of questions  I know.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Make sure all BT items are connected via the app and not the radio......

compared to Android?  Android as it has a lot more features

One thing I noticed is that the RT99 does a random transmit toggle, not initiated by a PTT by me.  I thought VOX was on but that does not appear to be the issue. This is a setting an I think you have not turned off all 3 ID switches.

Is the auto xmit something I can turn off.  I am a novice at APRS/GPS and thought the auto xmit was a function of those features kind of like PACTOR keying.  Have you looked at the files section and set the radio and to my settings which work?

Initially, I added a local 2 m. repeater.

I can communicate with the repeater.  However, the auto xmit is a nuisance.  Also, a listener indicated that there was a loud squeal after transmission completion, right before the repeater drops out. You have not turned off ID which gives the tone after you or the radio TX’s …. It’s one of the first things about setting up the radio.

He said I was scratchy into the repeater which surprised me with med. Sorry can’t comment on your setup or how you have done the antenna as the radio should give sufficient power, .. you have not commented about high power setting.

power and the antenna used.   Seems like my HT's with this antenna (Comet GP3) worked fine.

If RT99 is BT linked to both my cell phone and wireless microphone at the same time is that a problem?   That may not be possible, if there is some type of either/or BT link priority built in. You can only link one phone to it at a time, this means if the other phone has the app on it will not connect or have problems… only connect one at a time.

Any recommended video tutorials?  There are no videos but you need to read the documents and learn the settings. I didn’t have any documentation and there is little from the makers.
