Vero VR-N7500 – Remote Operation VFO Sync Control

Further to digging deeper into the App and its feature of RF to Network radio and the controls that the App can do, we have recorded the method and testing we carried out, so that all can see the possibility available.

Thanks to David KE6IPU for his documentation and pictures I have combined a document so that others can try this feature.

Min - I have configured my two Android devices for Remote Operation. I created a Network channel called KB0FX. I am able to bind to a memory channel. I am trying to access a local 2 meter repeater so I have the Rx set for 145.410 the repeater output, and the Tx for 144.610 the repeater input. I am able to make one transmission from the android tablet connected t0 the KB0FX network channel, which makes the  VR-N7500 transmit on 144.610 which keys up the repeater and then a feedback loop begins. Basically the VR-N7500 and the Repeater continuously key each other up cycling back and forth. Is there a way to prevent this from occurring?

The feedback loop could be occuring because you are using the same HT account on both devices. Try making a separate HT account, give it admin rights and using that account to remote access. Let me know if that works.

Interesting test with delay in the network it would be delayed triggering. Similar to listening to the output and talking on a repeater. May be try headphones stop the receiver audio getting into the tx.
But it network and I would not want to have the receive on TX. So try turning that off !!!🥴🥴🥴
Let us know how your experiment's go.

Hello to the group,

Mike, This setup is for VFO. On the 1st android connected to the radio via bluetooth. You should pick a blank channel on the 1st android. You can configure the freq by editing the network channel on the 2nd android.

I'll test the setup you did this weekend.

Team - I am happy to report I found the problem. I had Audio Relay turned on. Its a nice feature if you are operating simplex but a major problem if you are trying to use a repeater! Audi Relay was taking my transmission through the repeater and sending it through the repeater after I had already made my transmission.

Thanks Michael.

David and I were trying to think what was the setup to give that effect…. Was you using 2 radios or just 2 phones….???

Glad you have found the issue and got it resolved as David had suggested setting up a video chat to see if we could help, but you’ve sorted it.

Wonder if anybody else has tried the setting up of RF and Network.

Min - I am using two Andriod devices. The (Local Android) is connected via Bluetooth to the radio and my Network Channel (KB0FX). The other Android device, the (Remote Android) is connected to just the Network Channel. I am logged on as KB0FX on both devices. I am able to edit the memory entry that is bound to the KB0FX Network Channel from the Remote Android. Transmit quality from the network into the radio is good. Receive audio from the radio and into the network is not the best. The audio is choppy. Tinkering with the bandwidth settings.

Hi Jack
Not seen any answers to this and I can put it out on the Face Book pages if your not on the FB N7500 pages.
I wonder if your using the remote PTT to trigger TX or how your doing that, I wonder if other settings on the App for microphone could improve it.
The only distorted audio reported was the initial setup with the BT microphone and a reset resolves that....more details on the setup may help.

Think it is BT Device chacteristics

Hi Jack

I get echo only when the speaker mic and phone are on as there is a slight delay in the phone speaker.

Let us know how you get on please.

I have resolved my BT setup for the motorcycle and a Cardo Head set…. Best select 2 channel operation as there is so many BT items connected; GPS, Headset, (remote PTT which don’t use), phone and radio. I found that I have to setup the phone to the GPS and headset by 2 different channels… does help to dig out and read the manual !!!!!!
